Second Stakes winner in as many days for Lonhro
Lonhro recorded his second Stakes winner in as many days when his son Tower Of Lonhro claimed the Listed Grandstand Cup over 1500m at Ascot in Perth, March 21.
A winner of nine of his 26 starts heading in to the race, Tower Of Lonhro was yet to earn any Black type. However he changed that in emphatic fashion, finishing powerfully for an impressive win.
Bred by Torryburn Stud, Tower Of Lonhro is out of Stakes-placed Danehill mare Spire, also the dam of G3 winner Under The Eiffel. Tower Of Lonhro is the fifth Stakes winner by Lonhro out of a Danehill mare with the most notable being G1 winner and Darley stallion Benfica, as well as Group winners Pinwheel and Deer Valley.
The sire of six G1 winners including G1 Golden Rose winner Denman, Lonhro’s 13 entries for next month’s Inglis Easter yearling sale can be viewed by clicking here, while Denman's eight entries can be viewed here.
