Rozgar, a son of Exceed And Excel, made a successful step up in class when easily landing the 1200m Listed Prix Marchand d’Or at Chantilly, France on Sunday, 5th June.
Trained by Francis-Henri Graffard, the three-year-old sat handy before being pushed clear in the final furlong by Christophe Soumillon, to win comfortably by a length and a quarter to record his third consecutive win.
Owned and bred by HH Aga Khan, Rozgar is the second foal out of the Sea the Stars mare, Roshanara, herself a half-sister to G1 winner Rosanara.
Exceed And Excel, a three-time Champion Sire in Hong Kong, has sired over 1640 individual winners with Rozgar becoming his 196th Stakes winner, with 16 of those winning at the highest-level.
Exceed And Excel will stand at Kelvinside, NSW, for a service fee of $132,000, including GST.
