Proving himself to be a consistent producer of classy runners, and a mainstay in the Victorian stallion ranks, Cornelia Marie’s victory gives Reset his 8th individual Stakes winner this Australian season.
Ridden by Justin Potter, the mare jumped well and box-seated behind the pacemakers before issuing a challenge at the 200 metre mark. CorneliaMarie proved too strong in the run to the line, winning by almost two-lengths.
Bred by O & D Pope Pty Ltd, Cornelia Marie is a half-sister to stakes winner Chitbabe and is from the winning Rubiton mare Edna Valley. In turn, Edna Valley is sister to G3 winner Great Condor.
Reset has been well-represented in South Australia in recent weeks, with daughter Goon Serpent taking out the G2 Queen Of The South Stakes at Morphettville last weekend.
Reset will stand the 2011 season at Northwood Park at $16,500 (inc. GST)
