Darley stallion Elusive Quality sired the winner of the Listed Summoned Stakes on Saturday when his daughter Bernicia landed the spoils by three-quarters of a length from favourite Absolutelyfabulous.
This was her fourth victory of a nine-race career, which already included a victory in the Listed Keith F. Nolan Classic last season.
Regally-bred, she is out of the Blue Diamond Stakes winning mare, Danelagh and a half-sister to AJC Oaks winner Dizelle and Hong Kong superstar, Vengeance Of Rain.
Elusive Quality is one of only a few stallions that has a truly global appeal and 2008 has been nothing short of spectacular, siring the world's best turf colt, and recent Darley inductee, Raven's Pass, as well as a plethora of juvenile winners including leading British 2,000 Guineas fancy, Evasive. He is also becoming a notable sire of sires through one of the top European freshman stallions, Elusive City.
Another meritorious performance on Saturday came at Ascot when Locus Standi, a daughter of Street Cry, finished a gallant second in the G2 WA Guineas. This was her fifth career start, for two wins and three places including taking the Listed Burgess Queen Stakes.
