The potential demonstrated by Signore Fox in his recent starts became a reality when the colt raced away in the Listed Daybreak Lover Plate at Eagle Farm on Saturday, 8 June.
A son of Exceed And Excel from the G2-winning mare Sharp Susan, Signore Fox had won four races prior to his latest victory which was his first Stakes success and one which clearly suggested further improvement.
Ridden quietly, Signore Fox rounded up the leaders at the 200m and cruised to the line without being pressured to win impressively.
Signore Fox is a half-brother to the recent South African G1 winner Oh Susannah while his dam is a half-sister to the American G1 winners Sharp Lisa and Spring At Last.
The victory makes him Exceed And Excel’s 159th Stakes winner.
Exceed And Excel will stand the coming breeding season at Kelvinside, NSW at a fee of $88,000, including GST.
