Darley, as a major participant in racing in NSW, encourages all industry participants to embrace the findings of Ernst & Young's report, as change is required to secure the long term sustainability of the industry as a whole.
It is clear from the report that a restructuring of the existing model can only benefit industry participants in the form of more representative governance, improved finances and more efficient use of key industry assets.
The flow-on effects from a principal club merger will improve the prospects and viability of all owners, trainers, jockeys, industry employees and ultimately the sport of racing in NSW.
Managing Director of Darley Australia, Henry Plumptre stated, "A merger between the STC and AJC is a one-off opportunity for racing industry leaders to embrace change and deliver enduring benefits that will attract and retain participants and investment from overseas and Australia. I think we should give it a vote of confidence."
