Lining up for only his second start, Predatory Pricer now has a first win to his name after taking out the 1300m maiden at Kembla on Wednesday.
The three-year-old colt is by Street Cry and is a half-brother to sprinting millionaire Takeover Target. He is the fourth winner for his dam Shady Stream (Archregent).
Street Cry has enjoyed phenomenal early success in his stud career in the US and is currently at the head of third-crop sires’ table, having been leading first- and second-season sire. His son Street Sense, the only horse ever to have won the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and then go on to glory in the Kentucky Derby (pictured), stands for Darley at Aberdeen for the first time this year at a fee of $55,000 (inc GST). He is one of six G1 winners for Street Cry.
Kerrin McEvoy has been repatriated to Australia after several years in the UK riding for Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin operation. Now Darley’s retained rider back in his homeland, he has wasted no time in reacquainting himself with the winner’s circle, landing his first winner aboard Kyalami, a four-year-old by Commands, in the opening race at Gosford on Thursday.
There was more success for Darley later on the card when The Flame, from the first crop of Dubai Destination, strolled to a three-and-a-half length win in the three-year-old maiden (1100m) on his debut for Gai Waterhouse. He led home a Darley-owned trifecta, with Mignard (Strategic) taking third, also on her first start.
