Moment Is Right proved that the moment was now as she returned to the winner’s circle for the first time this season when notching a one-and-one-quarter-length victory in the Flashy Lady Stakes at Remington Park.
Moment Is Right broke alertly and quickly rushed up to take the lead after the first quarter-mile. The three-year-old filly continued to lead through the remainder of the race, turning back challengers in the stretch to win easily.
It was the second career Stakes win for the speedy Moment Is Right. As a two-year-old, she captured the Astoria Stakes in just her second start.
Sunday’s victory provided Medaglia d’Oro with his fifth Stakes winner of the weekend. The stallion’s hot streak started in Australia with Veladero’s victory in the G3 Gloaming, and continued Saturday in North America with Songbird taking the G1 Cotillion, Mrs McDougal winning the G3 Noble Damsel, and Cyrus Alexander scoring in the PA Derby Champion Stakes.
Moment Is Right was bred in Kentucky by Woodford Thoroughbreds and is out of Rite Moment, winner of the G2 Bed o’ Roses Handicap and the G2 Distaff Handicap.
Medaglia d'Oro has earned a spot among North American's leading sires once again in 2016 with undefeated, seven-time G1 winner and Eclipse Champion Songbird proudly carrying her sire’s banner in style. Three-year-old son Astern proved himself the best of his age group in Australia on September 10th with a resounding victory in the G1 Golden Rose. He has now sired a total of 15 G1 winners around the world.
Medaglia d’Oro stands at Kelvinside for a fee of $110,000 inc GST.
