It didn’t take long for At The Palace to grab the lead in the 1200m race on December 7 at Aqueduct, and the two-year-old Any Given Saturday colt never looked back en-route to a five-length triumph for his first career win.
Bred in Kentucky by television and recording star David Cassidy, At The Palace is out of the winning Mr. Prospector-line mare Tatooma, she a half-sister to G3 winner Queen Of Wilshire. Her other two foals of racing age have won, and she also has a Henny Hughes weanling of 2011.
Any Given Saturday, winner of the G1 Haskell over Horse of the Year Curlin and North American Leading Freshman Sire Hard Spun, is siring progressive winners in North America and Europe including Sunday’s Child and Ittasal. His yearlings of 2011 have sold for upwards of $180,000.
Any Given Saturday is standing at Northwood Park in Victoria for $13,750 (inc GST) before returning to his northern hemisphere base at Jonabell Farm, Kentucky, in a few weeks time.
