One to watch – Anevay
A winner of the Listed Talindert Stakes at her third start as a two-year-old, the now four-year-old Exceed And Excel mare Anevay resumed after 90 weeks away from the track to score by five lengths over 1100m at Canterbury, 16 November, defeating Contemplation and fellow Exceed And Excel mare Shiso.
Out of the place just once from her five career starts, Anevay is the second Stakes winner for the Hennessy mare Categorical. A half-brother to the G2 Todman Stakes winner Krupt, Anevay comes from the family of Champion sires Flying Spur and Encosta de Lago.
The sire of 57 Stakes winners internationally including G1 winners Excelebration, Reward For Effort and Margot Did, Exceed And Excel is standing the current breeding season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $66,000 (inc. GST), while he triple G1-winning son Helmet is standing his debut season at Darley’s Victorian-base Northwood Park at a fee of $33,000 (inc. GST).
