One dozen is the number for freshman sire Street Boss
Before today’s second race at Delaware Park, no other North American freshman sire was represented by more winners than Street Boss. He added one more to that expanding total in today’s second race at Delaware Park with the victory by Flying Bird.
Making his first start going two turns, Flying Bird raced along behind the leaders in fourth until just before the final turn when he made his move at the leaders. He quickly advanced to the lead in mid stretch and then pulled away to win by four and one-half lengths.
Flying Bird is owned and bred by Marylou Whitney Stables, LLC and was born in Kentucky. He is out of the winning Honour and Glory mare Caged Glory and is from the immediate family of Champion Birdtown and Classic winner Birdstone.
Street Boss, a multiple G1 winner and record setter, is also the sire of undefeated Stakes winner Bosco, Stakes-placed Sheistheboss and the progressive Capo Bastone (Del Mar) and Top Tier Lass (Saratoga).
