November Rein displayed a new tactic when she rallied from just off the pace to win the Iroquois Stakes by two lengths at Belmont at the Big A on Sunday, 30 October.
It was the second Stakes win for the Street Boss filly; she captured the Seeking the Ante Stakes as a juvenile and has been Stakes-placed as a three-year-old.
Bumped by a rival right out of the starting gate, November Rein was forced to alter her running style, which usually was going immediately to the front to set the pace. This time she taken just off the pace and settled in third, content to let Secret Love and Leeloo set the early pace.
November Rein began to make up ground on the leaders on the far turn as she made her bid while stuck racing four-wide. November Rein overtook the frontrunners at the top of the lane before shaking clear in the stretch to win by two lengths.
Bred in New York by Ron Lombardi, November Rein is a daughter of three-time Stakes winner Ju Ju Eyeballs (Gators N Bears), earner of over $250,000.
Street Boss is the sire of 61 Stakes winners worldwide, including recent G1 Cox Plate victor Anamoe, who has now won seven G1 Stakes races.
