Too Darn Hot has made a sizzling start to his stud career siring three Group winners so far in the northern hemisphere.
No European freshman has done this well at this stage of the season in 20 years.
Fallen Angel - out of Agnes Stewart (Lawman) - kicked off Group proceedings with a dominant three-length win in the G3 Sweet Solera Stakes on 12 August at Newmarket Racecourse.
It was then to Goodwood with juvenile filly Darnation - the first foal of Galileo mare Monday Monday - putting in an impressive Group performance.
At her first attempt at Group level having previously run twice in novice races, Darnation did not disappoint when winning the G3 Prestige Stakes over Goodwood's seven furlongs by an easy two lengths on 26 August.
Finishing third at Haydock on her debut at the beginning of July, she then broke her maiden at Thirsk by an impressive 10 lengths, three weeks on from her first start.
Rounding out the Group-winning trio was Carolina Reaper - out of the Shamardal mare Dark Promise - saluting in the G3 Zukunfts Rennen at Baden-Baden on 30 August.
In the southern hemisphere, Too Darn Hot continues to do no wrong having completed a sensational sales season with first-crop yearlings selling to $1 million at Magic Millions; his first-crop yearlings averaged $210,000, over five times his service fee.
Three quick Too Darn Hot facts:
- He's a G1 winner, by a G1 winner out of a G1 winner and every one of his grandparents is a G1 winner; a very rare occurrence in the pedigree of any thoroughbred.
- First southern hemisphere yearlings sold to $1 million and averaged $210,000, over five times his service fee.
- 37 nominated for the G1 Blue Diamond, the highest percentage of runners to live foals of all first-season sires.
Dubawi's Champion Two- and Three-Year-Old has covered three full books and returns for his fourth season in 2023 standing in the Hunter Valley at Kelvinside; he is available at $44,000 including GST - click here to contact the Darley stallions' sales team for further information.
