First-season sire Territories">Territories sired a new winner on Monday, 3 August when his son Rhoscolyn won at Haydock Park. Sent to the front in the seven-furlong contest, he quickened clear in the straight to record an easy two-and-three-quarter length triumph on his third career start.
Bred by Jackie and Stuart Laws and a 75,000gns yearling, Rhoscolyn is a daughter of the Galileo mare Zeyran, who hails from the extended family of G1 winners Light Jig and Seek Again.
Territories has been enjoying an excellent spell and has now sired eight winners. As of the 29 July, he had five juveniles rated 90 or higher by Timeform, higher than every first-season stallion. In fact, he is level with Kodiac and Starspangledbanner as Europe’s best source of quality precocity. He will be standing this coming season at a fee of $11,000 inc. GST.
