First-season sire Dawn Approach added a new winner to his record in impressive fashion on Tuesday, 3 October when his daughter Everglow made a successful debut at Marseille.
The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained filly was sent straight to the front and dictated the pace throughout the 1800mg contest, easing clear during the final stages to win by two and a half lengths.
Everglow was bred by Ecurie Des Monceaux, D Redvers and Framont Limited and becomes the ninth winner out of Frangy (Sadler’s Wells), who has produced three Black Type winners to date including G1 Northern Dancer Turf S hero Forte Dei Marmi.
Dawn Approach is now sire of 11 individual winners and no fewer than four Black Type performers – a number which cannot be beaten by any other European first-season sire.
Dawn Approach, whose first southern-hemisphere crop are now two, stands at Kelvinside at a fee of $22,000 inc GST.
