Consistent colt Heuristic added the first Black Type to his pedigree page and became sire Street Boss’s 28th Stakes-winning juvenile on Saturday, 20 May at Morphettville.
With jockey Ben Melham saving ground along the inside, Heuristic powered past Iphimedia (Exceed And Excel from the More Then Ready mare, Montana Sunset) in the final 200m to win by a neck, with Down Low a similar margin away in third place at the end of the G3 David Coles AM Stakes over 1,200m.
Out of the Lonhro mare Admissible, who also has a yearling colt by Brazen Beau and a weanling filly by the same stallion, Heuristic took his record to two wins and four placings from just seven starts for Godolphin head trainer James Cummings.
Street Boss, who won seven races and was placed four times in his short 13-start career, best known in Australia as the sire of nine-times G1 winner Anamoe.
The stallion now has 63 Stakes winners of 130 Stakes races worldwide for prize money earnings in excess of A$119 million.
Street Boss will stand at Darley’s Northwood Park property in Victoria this season for a service fee of $66,000, including GST.
