Sepoy filly Giroux became the latest winner for her first-season sire on 26 April when showing an impressive turn of foot to outclass her rivals over 1100m at Ballarat.
Giroux settled three-wide and travelled comfortably throughout under jockey Damian Lane, before racing away approaching the 200m mark to win by just over a length from Wearethechampions and Preemptive.
Purchased for A$120,000 at the 2015 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Giroux is the first foal out of the four-time Listed winner Paprika.
World Champion three-year-old sprinter Sepoy has continued to set records off the track, becoming the first ever freshman sire to top the Magic Millions Yearling sale in 2015.
Sepoy's first crop are beginning to show their class, headed by the likes of the G3-placed filly Chipanda as well as Listed-placed winner She’s Positive.
Sepoy will stand the coming breeding season at Kelvinside at a fee of $33,000 inc. GST.
