Trainer Peter Gelagotis couldn’t hide his opinion of debut winner Miss Roseiano after the daughter of super sire Exceed And Excel led all the way to win the G3 Blue Diamond Preview for fillies at Caulfield on 26 January.
Gelagotis, a triple G1-winning trainer, said Miss Roseiano could be the best horse he has prepared after she beat Written Swoosh and topweight Latizia in a sizzling 57.18 seconds for the 1,000, journey.
Jockey Jordan Childs agreed the filly, out of Australian mare Special Lover, was impressive and said she would take great benefit from the experience heading towards the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude and G1 Blue Diamond Stakes next month.
The owner of Noorilim Park, Peter Carrick bred and sold Miss Roseiano at the 2021 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale for $300,000 to Gelagotis Racing, James Bester and Osher Group.
Exceed And Excel is a proven champion sire of juveniles with 80 Stakes-winning two-year-olds including G1 winners Guelph, Earthquake and Overreach.
Exceed And Excel will stand again at Kelvinside, NSW, in 2022.
