Midnight Martini lands Cranbourne Cup
Midnight Martini led home a Street Cry trifecta when dashing away in the home straight to win Sunday’s Listed Cranbourne Cup over 2025m and become the 57th Stakes winner for her sire.
Poised to challenge into the home straight, Midnight Martini produced an impressive turn of foot to race clear, eased towards the finish to score over Streets Away and Streaky Fella in a 1,2 3 for finish for Street Cry.
“She’s certainly deserved this, blinkers today made all the difference.” winning trainer Mark Kavanagh said. Kavanagh, who trained Street Cry Group 1 winners Shocking and Whobegotyou, added, “She is by my favourite sire you know.”
