Three-year-old Medaglia d'Oro filly Marketing Mix earned a second Graded Stakes victory November 12 with a tremendous victory in the G2 Mrs. Revere Stakes at Churchill. With the score Marketing Mix defeated a lineup of highly talented turf fillies.
Certainly on the up, Marketing Mix was entering the event off her outstanding second in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes at Keeneland. Prior, she posted an effortless win September 17 in the G3 Pucker Up Stakes at Arlington Park and also took the Wonder Where Stakes at Woodbine at the end of July.
Running at a suitable 1700m on the turf, Marketing Mix held just off the pace in second to track the leader early. She began to make her move inside the final turn and put herself in front, before cruising easily in the stretch to certainly prove much the best.
The three-year-old filly was bred by Sean Fitzhenry and is out of Instant Thought, by Kris S. Her second dam is Graded Stakes-placed Nimble Mind, a full-sister to G1 winner Contredance as well as Graded winners Skimble and Shotiche.
A global influence, Medaglia d’Oro is the sire of 14 Graded/Group winners to date. They include G1 Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty and G1 Just A Game Handicap winner C. S. Silk, both in 2011. Perhaps his most notable is the legendary Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra. He has sired G1 winners on all surfaces and at all ages. His other 2011 Graded Stakes winners include Super Espresso and Devil By Design, among others.
