First-season sire Lonhro notched up his sixth individual winner in impressive style on 26 July, when Skytrain made a successful racecourse debut at Canterbury, running out the convincing winner of the Stargazer Handicap.
Trained by Peter Snowden for Sheikh Mohammed, Skytrain was settled in third position and despite showing some signs of greenness, ran on impressively to win the 1200m contest by almost two-and-a-half lengths.
A Woodlands homebred, he becomes the fifth winner from the Luskin Star mare Que Sera Sera, who has also produced G2 winner Manana and Listed-winning duo Accept and Omens.
Lonhro, who stands alongside his sire Octagonal at Denman at a fee of $55,000, is also sire of Stakes winner Black Minx; and Black type placers Segolene, Minnesota Shark and Shadrach.
