G2-winning Lonhro mare Wawail scored her third Stakes victory with an impressive win in the G3 Frances Tressday Stakes over 1400m at Flemington, March 5.
After settling just behind the speed in the early stages, jockey Damien Oliver brought Wawail to the centre of the track on straightening and she powered away to score an impressive victory.
A homebred for Shadwell Australasia, Wawail is the first foal out of Redoute’s Choice mare El Daana, a winner of the G2 Edward Manifold Stakes.
Wawail is one of 58 Stakes winners for Lonhro who is the sire of seven G1 winners including Darley stallions Denman and Benfica as well as Exosphere and Pierro.
