Lonhro's march up the sires table climbed another rung after securing a Stakes double in two different states today. Shortly after Obsequious claimed the G2 Light Fingers Stakes at Randwick, Darley's stable queen Beaded was dominant in her return to racing, easily accounting for the rest of field winning comfortably by an unchallenged two lengths over the 1200m at Caulfield. Jockey Mark Zahra never panicked despite having to sit three-wide and four-wide in transit and swooped around the field to add to a very successful day for the Darley stable who had five winners nationwide.
Lonhro now has nine Stakes wins to his name for the season and is set to make a real statement over the upcoming Autumn Carnival. Beaded will now head to Adelaide and try and better her previous two G1 placings and impressive record of nine wins and seven placings from 17 starts. Beaded joins Lonhro-sired G2 winner Obsequious and G3 winners Trim, Parables and Demerit who are all looking to improve their Black-type status over the upcoming carnival.
Breeders with Lonhro yearlings at the upcoming sales will no doubt be excited by this hot streak and all augers well for strong demand for his 16 yearlings at the Inglis Premier and seven catalogued lots at the Inglis Easter Sales.
