Lewis Bay took the lead at the top of the lane and pulled away to win the G2 Demoiselle Stakes by one-and-three-quarter lengths at Aqueduct Nov. 28.
It was the Stakes debut for the daughter of Bernardini, who races as a homebred for Alpha Delta Stables. Trained by Chad Brown, Lewis Bay now boasts a record of two wins and a second in three lifetime starts.
Lewis Bay is out of the Summer Squall mare, Summer Raven, winner of the G3 Tempted Stakes. Lewis Bay is a half-sister to Winslow Homer, winner of the G3 Holy Bull Stakes, and to Misconnect, winner of the G3 General George Stakes.
Bernardini continues to have an outstanding year in 2015. The son of A.P. Indy has sired four G1 winners this season, including G1 Champagne winner Greenpointcrusader, G1 Humana Distaff winner Dame Dorothy, and G1 Spinaway winner, Rachel’s Valentina. He is also the sire of five-time G1 winner Boban, as well as back-to-back G1 Travers winners Stay Thirsty and Alpha.
Bernardini is standing at Kelvinside at a fee of $27,500 inc. GST.
