Finding the lead easily in his customary style, four-year-old Lonhro gelding Launay issued a challenge to his rivals in the straight before coasting away to easily account for the field by three lengths.
Bred by Woodlands, Launay is from the Palace Music mare Eve In Seychelles, whom is currently in foal to the 11-time G1-winning Horse of the Year.
Launay’s win brought about a two state stakes double for Lonhro, with daughter Parables taking out the G2 Surround Stakes at Warwick Farm earlier in the day. Lonhro has now sired 21 individual Stakes winners and currently sits in third position on the Australian General Sires Table.
Lonhro will be represented at the upcoming Australian Easter Yearling Sale by sixteen yearlings, including a full brother to his G2 winning son, O’Lonhro.
