Juvenile filly gives Bivouac third Stakes winner

Luana Miss remains unbeaten with slashing Supremacy Stakes victory in Perth

Impressive two-year-old Luana Miss resumed from a spell to record her second win in two starts in Saturday’s Listed Supremacy Stakes over 1,000m at Ascot.

Winner of the Magic Millions 2YO Plate on debut at the same track in January, Luana Miss confirmed the form by coming from sixth on the home turn under jockey Shaun O’Donnell to overpower Yes Queen and Talkanco in a fast 57.9 seconds.

The filly, out of Australian mare Little Bit Ditsy, also boosted her young Darley sire Bivouac’s stud record from his first crop to race.

A three-time G1 winner and former Australian champion sprinter for Godolphin, Bivouac has now sired four winners – including three Stakes-race winners from only 17 runners to face the starter.

New Zealand filly Intention, out of Beela Hudood, won the G2 Wakefield Challenge Stakes at Trentham in December before Beiwacht scored in the G2 Silver Slipper at Rosehill Gardens last month.

Bred by Clive Atwell and offered by Western Breeders Alliance at the 2024 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, Luana Miss was purchased by Ascot trainer Trevor Andrews for $110,000 and has already returned $134,340 in prize-money.

A Bivouac filly sold for $260,000 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne this month and the stallion has three colts and one filly in the catalogue for the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale in Sydney on 6-7 April.
