Medaglia d'Oro colt McKenna's Justice became the newest Stakes winner for his sire December 4 with a score in the Zia Park Distance Championship Handicap. The colt had already proven himself in Stakes company with multiple Stakes placings, but solidified his first Stakes win in this impressive run.
In the one and one-eighth mile race McKenna's Justice settled well off the pace. Around the final turn the colt went wide to gradually make ground in the stretch and notch the win at the end.
Bred by McKenna Thoroughbreds LLC, the four-year-old is out of the Lit de Justice mare Regretfully. He is a half-brother to Canadian Champion Two-Year-Old Wholelottabourbon, a multiple Stakes winner, and is from the family of Graded Stakes winner Ferragamo.
Medaglia d'Oro is the leading commercial sire of the day, by number of sales and session toppers. In 2011 he has been the sire of G1 Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty and G1 Just A Game Handicap winner C. S. Silk.
