Hauraki added a second G2 win to his record with a bold victory in the Tramway Stakes over 1400m at Royal Randwick on September 3.
Running on from the rear of the field, Hauraki showed his class to burst through in the closing stages and win by three-quarters of a length from fellow Darley-sired contenders Le Romain (Hard Spun) and Dibyani (Shamardal), in what proved to be a thrilling finish.
Four times G1-placed, Hauraki is a Darley homebred and is out of unraced mare Youthful Presence. He is a half-brother to Black-type winners Kidnapped (G1 South Australian Derby), Academus (G2 Western Australian Guineas) and Deledio (SAJC Hill Smith Stakes).
Alongside Group 1 winners Fawkner, Pinker Pinker, Set Square and Rebel Raider, Hauraki is among Reset’s best-performed progeny.
Reset is standing the current breeding season at Northwood Park at a fee of $16,500 including GST.
