Hard Mystery runs away in Inside Information Stakes
Hard Spun's three-year-old daughter Hard Mystery put on quite a show April 28 in Belmont's Listed Inside Information Stakes. The five-and-three-quarter length victory was the first Stakes score for the filly.
Hard Mystery settled off the pace in reserve in the 1600m dirt race. Coming into the final turn she began to kick into gear and swept past the field on the outside. There was no turning back from there and the filly absolutely cruised in the stretch to a thrilling victory.
Hard Mystery is out of the Stakes-winning Summer Squall mare Summer Rainbow, who earned nearly US$250,000. The filly was bred by Alpha Delta Stables, LLC.
Second-crop sire Hard Spun has already seen eight Stakes winners from his fantastic first crop, who are now three-year-olds. Among them is G2 Superlative Stakes winner Red Duke, and Stakes winner Hard Not To Like, who finished a game second in Keeneland's prestigious G1 Ashland Stakes. The sire has a strong 12 Graded/Group Stakes horses to his credit already.
Hard Spun will stand the forthcoming southern hemisphere season at Darley's Northwood Park at a fee of $16,500 (inc. GST).
