Henny Hughes’s three-year-old colt Henny Hound has found a home on the turf in Japan as evidenced by his most recent outing on March 19 where he won the G3 Chunichi Sports Sho Falcon at six furlongs at Hanshin Racecourse. One of 26 first-crop winners by his sire, he completed the six-furlongs in a very quick 1:08.7.
Henny Hound is out of stakes-placed, track record setter Beautiful Moment, she a half-sister to G3 winner Bidding Proud who also set two new course records on the turf. Bred by Gulf Coast Farm, LLC, in Kentucky, Henny Hound is also a half brother to the stakes-placed runners Saturday Hero and Beautiful Treasure.
Foals from Henny Hughes’s first crop also includes the stakes record setter Fort Hughes and stakes-placed horses Wealthy Aviator and Midnight Visit. Henny Hughes still remains the only three-year-old to win the G1 King’s Bishop and G1 Vosburgh in the same year.
