Exceed And Excel’s extraordinary ability to sire juvenile winners was again on display when professional colt Barber won the $1 million Golden Gift at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney on Saturday, 5 November.
Having his second start after a first-up win at Royal Randwick two weeks earlier, Barber overcame a tardy start from his wide barrier and at least two checks in the run to wear down Infatuation. Barber is out of the Lonhro mare Trim, a winner of two Stakes races and the dam of dual Stakes winner Manicure.
