G1-winning miler Territories sired his first winner on Wednesday, 10 June when his daughter Rougir impressed over 1400m at Chantilly. Making her career debut for trainer Cedric Rossi, she made steady progress in the straight before quickening up well to win going away by a length.
Rougir is a daughter of the Stakes-placed mare Summer Moon, who breeder Jan Krauze bought carrying her in December 2017 for €23,000. Rougir was a private sale as a foal and was later sold as a yearling for €55,000 at Arqana August.
Territories biggest day on the track was also at Chantilly when winning the G1 Prix Jean Prat. A close relative of top stallions Shamardal and Street Cry, as well this season’s Poule d’Essai des Poulains winner Victor Ludorum, Territories first yearlings have sold for up to A$350,000. He is covering this upcoming season at a fee of $11,000 Inc GST.
