Fulgentia, a first-crop daughter of Territories, became her sire’s first Stakes winner when taking the Listed Premio Ubaldo Pandolfi at Rome on Sunday, 18 October. Listed-placed on only her second start, the two-year-old filly stormed to victory in the ten-runner contest to not only land her first Black Type win but also break her maiden.
Bred by Star Cottage Stud and a graduate of the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale, Fulgentia is the fourth foal from the winning Dr Fong mare India Spirit. She is a half-sister to the dual G1 winner Gitano Hernando out of the G3-winning Perugino mare Gino’s Spirits. The third dam is the G1 One Thousand Guineas heroine Mrs. Mcardy, dam of the G1-placed Citidancer.
G1-winning miler Territories is now the sire of 15 first-crop winners. He is also the sire of seven Black Type performers from his first crop, including G1 Prix Marcel Boussac third Rougir, with his yearlings this season having made up to £168,000 at the sales.
