Sepoy’s improving four-year-old daughter Lanana gained a valuable first Stakes victory on Friday, 4 October when landing the Listed Prix Dahlia at Saint-Cloud.
After being held up early over the 2000m trip, she quickened impressively to overhaul Godolphin’s Magic Lily (New Approach) in the final 200m to win going away.
Lanana has been in tremendous form recently, winning twice in August before gaining her first Black Type at the start of September in the Listed Grand Prix de Fontainebleau.
Bred by Aleyrion Bloodstock Ltd, Lanana is the first foal of the winning Dylan Thomas mare Anandara, who is herself a half-sister to the globetrotting G1 performer Bankable.
Sepoy is the sire of 33 Stakes performers including three-time G1 heroine Alizee. He is standing this season at Northwood Park, VIC at a fee of $11,000 including GST.
