If Mark Alati is anywhere near the mark in his description of the Medaglia d’Oro colt he is offering at this week’s Inglis Easter yearling sale, he is likely to be well-rewarded.
“He moves like Usain Bolt and has the looks of Brad Pitt,” Alati said during a break in pre-sale inspections at the Inglis Riverside sales complex.
The colt catalogued as Lot 425 and consigned by Alati’s Marquee Stud is out of the unraced Zabeel mare Devil’s Thumbprint and also has a pedigree to admire, being out of a half-sister to the Stakes-winners Calveen, Kosi Bay, Fireworks and Striker.
To Alati he is a colt whose looks are matched by his presence and attitude.
“This is as nice a horse as I’ve every taken to a sale,” he said.
“On top of that, he is by one of the world’s best stallions. Medaglia d’Oro just can’t do anything wrong.”
The Medaglia’ d’Oro colt is one of six bred by Alati and being offered by Marquee and one of three sired by Darley stallions.
