A new record of $250,000 for a yearling by Darley’s first-crop sire Exosphere has been paid at the Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney.
The filly catalogued as Lot 182 is from the Stakes-placed Cape Cross mare Casilda and is closely-related to the outstanding racehorse and champion sire High Chaparral.
The price paid for the filly tops the $230,000 paid for a filly by Exosphere from She Goes To Rio at last month’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale where three yearlings by the stallion made $200,000 or more.
Casilda, who won two races in England and was placed at G3 level at Newmarket, is from a prominent Aga Khan family that has produced a string of Stakes winners including Kozana, the champion filly of France in 1985.
Kozana is the granddam of High Chaparral and his G2-winning brother Black Bear Island.
The filly was consigned by Queensland farm Glenlogan Park, purchased by Peter Karlsson and will be trained by Joe Pride who conditioned Denman's son, Kuro, to four Listed victories and four Group placings, two of these at G1 level.
