NEWS: Another exciting Darley-sired draft at Magic Millions

The 2020 Magic Millions catalogue proves another exciting launch pad for the Darley-sired yearling progeny ahead of Gold Coast Yearling Sale to kick off on January 8.
From the outstanding yearlings by proven sires Exceed And Excel and Lonhro, to the freshman with Astern, Frosted and Territories, the Darley-sired progeny are set to get 2020 off on the right foot for the Darley stallions.
With Astern having 23 yearlings catalogued at the upcoming sale, the southern hemisphere yearling sale debut of triple G1 winner Frosted is also on the horizon.
With his first yearlings in the USA reaching US$850,000, all eyes will be on Lot 301 – a half-sister to one of the world’s best sprinters, Santa Ana Lane.

Darley stallions young I Am Invincible stallion, and the leading second-crop sire by Stakes winners, Brazen Beau was a G1-winning sprinter and has made a flying start to his stud career.
With his oldest progeny now three-years-old, he has already sired 32 winners including six at Stakes level.
Lot 121 is a half-brother to the G3 winner and Blue Diamond Prelude-placed Concealer, while Lot 470 is out of a half-sister to the G1 winner Griante.
Lot 298 is out of a half-sister to the multiple New Zealand G1 winner and young sire Xtravagant, as well as the G1 performer and sire He’s Remarkable.

There is another outstanding selection of yearlings by the top-class sire Exceed And Excel, who has been represented by more than 1,400 individual winners including 164 at Stakes level and 14 G1 winners, including the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner, Exceedance.
He is the sire of 30 yearlings in the Magic Millions catalogue. Lots 631 and 640 are out of the G1-winning mares Perfect Fit and Platelet, while Lot 351 is a half-sister to G1 winner Griante, and the dams of Lots 107 and 127 are sisters to G1 winners Virage de Fortune and Mummify respectively.
The catalogue also features two close relatives to Exceed And Excel’s G1 Blue Diamond winner Earthquake. Lot 464 is out of an unraced half-sister to Earthquake, while the dam of Lot 159 is a half-sister to Earthquake’s dam, Cataclysm.
Another exciting up-and-coming Darley stallion is Exosphere, whose Magic Millions offering includes Lot 186 – from the family of top-quality sire Fastnet Rock.
Lot 481 is closely related to the classy sprinting mare Champagne Cuddles, while Lot 482 is a half-brother to two Stakes winners.
Lonhro is continuing to make an impact both as a sire and as a sire of sires, with his superb son Pierro carrying on the family tradition.
Lonhro’s Magic Millions yearlings include Lot 789, whose dam is a half-sister to Miss Right Note – the dam of Pierro.
Exceed And Excel 1-2 in 2019 G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes
Shooting To Win is another of exciting member of the Darley stallions emerging talent. His oldest progeny are now three, and they include Kubrick, a recent winner of the $1 million Bondi Stakes and G1 placegetter.
There are some well-related yearlings among his 2020 Magic Millions crop, including Lot 35, whose dam is a half-sister to the dam of multiple G1 winner Appearance.
Lot 622 is out of the Stakes-winning Mossman mare Parriwi, while Lot 809 is a daughter of Stakes-winning Monolith mare Starmon – already the dam of Stakes winner Gogo Grace and Stakes-placed Star Status.
She also comes from the family of multiple G1 winner Verry Elleegant, and descends from the iconic Cambridge Stud family of Octagonal, Diamond Lover, Don Eduardo, Tristalove, Kaapstad, Marquise, Shower of Roses and many others.
Lot 861 is out of a half-sister to the G1 winner Holler.
Well-performed stallion Street Boss also features in the Magic Millions catalogue, with Lot 714 coming from an outstanding family. The second dam is the outstanding multiple G1 winner Sacahuista, dam of champion sire Hussonet as well as G1 winner and successful sire Ekraar.
Young sire Territories will be represented by his first crop of southern hemisphere yearlings. They include Lot 492, out of Stakes-winning mare M’Lady Pedrille, who is the dam of Listed winner Ragged Rascal. Lot 641 is a half-sister to the multiple Stakes winner Victorem.
