Three sons of Exceed And Excel were among the leading lots on offer at the Internationla breeze-up sale in Hong Kong over the weekend.
The highest price of the trio was HK$3,200,000 (€310,680/A$618,654)) for an Australian-bred colt out of Bare Elegance. Another southern hemisphere-bred, a gelding from Element Of Fire, fetched HK$2,200,0000 (€213,592/A$425,324), the same price paid for an Irish-bred gelding out of Royal Fizz.
Cape Cross, whose NZ-bred son Able One broke the previous track record when running a gallant second to Good Ba Ba in the G1 Hong Kong Mile on Sunday, was also represented at the sale with a gelding out of Foxette, who sold for HK$2,200,000 (€213,592) while had a British-bred son of Haras du Logis’ new resident King's Best made HK$2,000,000 (€188,900/A$386,770).
Exceed And Excel has nine yearlings catalogued to sell in the forthcoming Magic Millions sale on the Gold Coast and Cape Cross has five.
