Royal Intervention (Exceed And Excel) recorded her second Stakes win and first at Group level on Friday, 12 July with a frontrunning victory in the G3 Summer Stakes, run over six furlongs at York.
Soon in front under jockey Paul Hanagan, the three-year-old filly was still in the lead with a furlong left to run and hard pressed by Shades Of Blue close to home, battled superbly to prevail by a neck.
Trained by Ed Walker, Royal Intervention won the Listed Empress Stakes by four and a half lengths at two, before finishing third in the G3 Princess Margaret Stakes. Earlier this year, she was third in the G2 Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock.
Bred by the Exciting Times Partnership, Royal Intervention is a half-sister to G1 winner Gorella, plus fellow Stakes winner Porto Santo.
Royal Intervention is one of 20 Black Type performers in 2019 for Exceed and Excel, also sire this year of G1-winning juvenile Microphone in his native Australia, plus Group-winning trio Secret Ambition, Bivouac and Mclaren.
