Darley stallions were extremely well represented in the first day of the 2011 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. The top price of the day was the G1 winner Christmas Kid, in foal to the Darley's Champion three-year-old Bernardini. The broodmare was sold to Aisling Duignan for US$4,200,000. Later in the sale there was another mare in foal to Bernardini that fetched US$850,000 that was knocked down to Chester Broman.
Another Darley stallion that had a fantastic result during the first day of the 2011 Keeneland November was Medaglia d'Oro. The sire of G1 Kentucky Oaks winners Rachel Alexandra and Plum Pretty, the multiple G1-winning son of El Prado was represented by a weanling filly that sold for US$2,600,000 to Besilu Stables. It was the highest price ever paid for a weanling filly in the USA since the 2006 Keeneland November when a filly out of Islington made US$2,400,000.
Stonestreet and George Bolton bought a pair of weanlings by Medaglia d'Oro and Bernardini. The Medaglia d'Oro lot was bought for US$675,000 and the Bernardini out of Imaginary Cat for US$440,000.
Darley stallion Street Cry was represented by a weanling out of Dark Sky that was sold to David Redvers Bloodstock for US$475,000.
All three of the above mentioned stallions are standing the current southern hemisphere season at Darley Kelvinside at $38,500 (inc GST), $77,000 (inc GST) and $110,000 (inc. GST), respectively.
