Former Dalham Hall Stud residents Red Ransom and Fantastic Light enjoyed excellent results on Saturday at Rosehill in Australia and Lingfield in England.
The day started well when Red Ransom filly Typhoon Tracy remained unbeaten to score in the 1500m G1 Coolmore Classic. Trained by Peter Moody and ridden by Glen Boss, she jumped smartly and made every post a winning one, scoring by half-a-length. A performance, which her made her rider enthuse, "she is one of the best three-year-old fillies I've ever been on in my life".
Bred by Hutchins Thoroughbreds she is out of the Champion juvenile in South Africa Tracy's Element, and a full-sister to current Stakes winner Red Element.
At Lingfield, Scintillo, by Darley Japan stallion Fantastic Light, scored by nose in the G3 Winter Derby. A G1-winning juvenile, this was his second Stakes win within a week, after landing the Listed Dragonfly Stakes at Kempton on Wednesday.
Trained by Richard Hannon and bred by Woodcote Stud, he is out of the Classic-winning mare Danseuse Du Soir and a half-brother to G3 winner Jumbajukiba.
Back in Australia at Morphettville, Exceed And Excel's son Baby Corn was beaten only a short-neck in the G3 The Jansz Stakes. A Listed winner on the track on his last start, he was bred by Sperling Enterprises Pty Ltd and is out of the G3-winning Scenic mare Sweet Corn.
