Sepoy's G1 performer Dabyah put herself firmly in the picture for the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket in a fortnight's time when easily landing the G3 Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.
John Gosden's charge made all in the seven-furlong contest, defeating Urban Fox by a length and a quarter, with G3 performer Promising finishing third.
Dabyah made a winning debut at Newmarket on July Cup day before adding to her haul with a facile victory by nine lengths at Newbury in September. She crowned her juvenile season with an excellent third, beaten just a length, in the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac at Chantilly on Arc day, when overhauled in the closing stages by Wuheida (Dubawi).
Sepoy is also responsible for another Classic contender in Unforgetable Filly who finished runner-up in the G3 Nell Gwyn Stakes at Newmarket on Wednesday. He sired 20 individual two-year-old winners last year, making him the leading British-based first-season sire, including Stakes winners Kilmah and Baileys Showgirl.
Sepoy stands at Kelvinside at a fee of $16,500 including GST.
