Queen’s Command became the 44th individual Stakes winner for her prolific sire Commands after the mare claimed the G3 Flamboyant Stakes over 1600m at Greyville, South Afirca on January 1.
The four-year-old raced handy to the pace before proving too tough for her opposition over the concluding stages. Elusive Quality filly Salsabeel showed she is a future Stakes-performer with her fast-finishing second, completing a quinella for Darley sires in the R140,000 event.
Bred by Mr G P and J A Nolan, Queen’s Command, is one of two winners from as many to race out of a daughter of Unbridled’s Song, Judicial Queen. Queen’s Command fetched $60,000 at the 2009 Gold Coast Magic Millions Sale.
Darley stallions have continued to serve Judicial Queen as the mare has a two-year-old Henny Hughes colt ready to race while another Henny Hughes filly will pass through the sales ring at the upcoming Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling sale, along with a batch of 20 Commands-sired yearlings that will also sell at the the sale.
