Another Stakes win to the resolute filly Cloudy has added further to the growing reputation of her sire Frosted as she took out the G3 Breeders Stakes at Morphettville in Adelaide.
Cloudy had announced herself as the fourth Stakes winner from Frosted’s first crops in Australia and the US when winning the Listed Dequettville Stakes at the same track two weeks earlier.
She now joins his US filly Travel Column and Ingratiating as a dual-Stakes winner.
Cloudy showed perfect manners that were matched by an instant turn-of-foot, beginning cleanly from the inside and then racing generously before taking an inside run at the 250m and holding off the runner-up Karacasu to win by a short-head.
The win is Cloudy’s third from seven starts and she is one of 34 winners for Frosted from his first crops to race in the US and Australia.
The filly is on of five to race from her dam Applegate who was a Listed winner in Melbourne.
Applegate has since produced foals by Ribchester and Impending.
Frosted begins his fifth season at Darley’s Northwood Park stud in Victoria in 2021 at a service fee of $44,000 including GST.
