Supplemented for the race at the start of the week, the Hugo Palmer-trained Unforgetable Filly justified the outlay when running out the easy winner of the German 1,000 Guineas. From the first crop of Sepoy, she came with a sweeping move down the outside to win going away by one-and-three-quarter lengths. This was her second Stakes victory after winning the Listed Maggie Dickson Stakes at Musselburgh at the start of June.
Unforgetable Filly is out of the winning Oasis Dream mare Beautiful Filly and is from the family of G1 winner Fire The Groom – herself dam of Champion sprinter Stravinsky.
Sepoy has sired 15 Stakes performers worldwide including G1 juvenile Dabyah, winner of the G3 Fred Darling Stakes and a likely starter in the G1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot this week, and Stakes winners Kilmah, Baileys Showgirl and Khukri. He is standing this season at a fee of $16,500 Inc GST.
