The G1-entered Chilean landed the first Group race to be run at the redeveloped Longchamp on Sunday, 8 April when landing the G3 Prix La Force. Making his seasonal debut after a successful juvenile campaign that included a victory in the Listed Ascendant Stakes, he was always prominent and wasn’t hard ridden to win by just over a length.
Now the winner of three of his five races, he holds G1 Classic entries in both the French and English 2,000 Guineas as well as the French Derby.
Bred by Ed’s Stud Ltd, he is the first foal of the Stakes-winning mare Childa (Duke Of Marmalade) who was also placed in the G2 Prix du Conseil de Paris. Childa also has a juvenile filly by Dawn Approach named Princesse Li.
Iffraaj has now sired 28 individual Group winners including four-time G1 mile hero Ribchester, last week’s Dubai sprint winner Jungle Cat, Champion juvenile Wootton Bassett and three Classic winners in Australia and New Zealand in Gingernuts, Jon Snow and Turn Me Loose. Iffraaj will again be standing this season at Haunui Stud in New Zealand at a fee of NZ$25,000 Plus GST.
