Champion mare scans in foal
Undefeated Champion mare Black Caviar has tested positive in foal to Australia’s reigning Champion stallion Exceed And Excel. The announcement was made at the unveiling of the Black Caviar statue at the great mare’s birthplace in Nagambie, October 24.
A winner of all 25 career starts including 15 at G1 level, Black Caviar joins a long list of top-class mares to test positive in foal to Exceed And Excel this breeding season. Other mares already in foal to the Champion stallion include G1 performers Beaded, Unearthly, Set For Fame and Portillo as well as the dam’s of G1 winners Red Tracer, Racing To Win, King’s Rose and Happy Archer.
Dazzler, a Flemington winner as a two-year-old and a half-sister to star Exceed And Excel filly Guelph, has also tested in foal as has recently retired G2 winner Star Of Giselle.

The sire of six G1 winners including Darley stallion Helmet, Overreach, Excelebration, Reward For Effort and Margot Did, Exceed And Excel has sired 75 Stakes winners internationally. He is standing the current breeding season at Kelvinside at a fee of $88,000 inc. GST.
