Gamilati became the sixth Graded winner for Bernardini when winning the G2 Cherry Hinton Stakes on Friday, July 8. The two-year-old filly ran in the middle of the pack before advancing comfortably along the rail before pulling away for a decisive win.
The winner is from the second crop of Bernardini who has enjoyed tremendous success with his first crop, a group that includes two G1-winners and five G1-placed horses.
Darley-bred and Godolphin-owned, Gamilati is out of Illustrious Miss, winner of the G3 Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes and third in the G1 Irish 1,000 Guineas. The Kingmambo mare has also produced the Listed placed Late Romance as her second foal. She produced in 2010 a filly by New Approach and was bred to Shamardal this last season.
Bernardini’s stellar beginning last year started with juvenile G1 winners A Z Warrior in the U.S.A. and Biondetti in Europe. Other top performers from his first crop are Stay Thirsty, To Honor And Serve, Theysken's Theory, Arthur's Tale and R Gipsy Gold. Bernardini stands at Kelvinside, NSW for a fee of $38,500 (inc GST).
