Mr Stunning, an Australian-bred son of Exceed And Excel, stepped up into Group class in style on Sunday 9 April when impressively landing the G2 Sprint Cup at Sha Tin. Now the winner of seven of his ten starts, he was given a superb ride by Joao Moreira to come from the back to win going away in the six furlong contest.
Bred by Makybe Racing and Breeding, Mr Stunner is a son of the Dayjur mare With Fervour, who has bred five winners in Europe, Asia and Australasia. With Fervour is a daughter of the three-time US G1 winner Fran’s Valentine.
Exceed And Excel has now sired 130 individual Stakes winners with six already coming in 2017. Four of these have won at Group level with Mr Stunning joining the a trio of Dubai winners in Championship, Morawij and Heavy Metal.
