Anamoe strengthened his reputation as the best galloper in Australia and provided his sire Street Boss (USA) with another Stakes success on Saturday, 8 October when he won the G1 Might And Power Stakes over 2,000m at Caulfield in Melbourne.
Brilliantly ridden by James McDonald, Anamoe wore down I’m Thunderstruck and Zaaki to record his sixth G1 victory and the 10th Stakes win of his illustrious 19-start career.
The four-year-old entire, out of Australian mare Anamato - a G1 winner of the South Australian Jockey Club Oaks in Adelaide, won in the G1 George Main Stakes at Randwick last month.
Anamoe also stamped his claims on this month’s G1 Cox Plate at Moonee Valley - the race in which he was narrowly and controversially beaten in last year as a three-year-old.
Street Boss had sired 800 winners of 2,248 races, including 61 Stakes winners and 22 Group winners of prize-money totaling more than $103 million.
Street Boss stands at Darley’s Kelvinside property in the NSW Hunter Valley for a service fee of $77,000, including GST.
